All the reviews I've read for the Volvo S40 have been about the turbo version (all good reviews), but right now I have my eye on a non-turbo S40 and I'm wondering if it's even worth it. Opinions, thoughts, advice, much appreciated, thanks!

    It's a 2004, fully loaded, 1,700 miles. Asking price is $18,000.

Please keep in mind that I am not a car enthusiast. I like cars, but I'm just a regular 25 year old girl who wants a new car. Currently I drive a 1989 Camry so anything is an upgrade for me. To give an idea of what my tastes run, I also like the Acura TSX and the A4.

Drive it. The turbo models require more maintainence. If you don't mind not having as much get-up, you'll be fine with a non-turbo. Non-turbo's may not have the same standard equipment as turbo models. But since the one you are looking at is fulling loaded, it shouldn't really matter.

The focus has been out since 1997? Wow, big shock to me.

S40 uses the same platform as the European Focus and the Mazda3, called C1.
