Have any of you volunteered before? Or done it on an extensive basis?

How is it? How can I get started?

    Thanks

The opportunities are endless. Check with your local food bank or soup kitchen, call the office of a large church, they can point you in the right direction. This link will be of help too.

or visit your local hospital. There's no way to say how the experience will be. It depends on what you do, who you're working with, etc

    I agree!
I help out at my daughter's school when possible/needed.
I have also been a Girl Scout Troop Leader for the past 3 years. I love it!
What are you interested in volunteering for?

I volunteered recently at a local soup kitchen. I helped to set the place up, and brought people meals from the kitchen. I would highly recommend it, help is always needed, and at the end of the day, it really makes you feel better for helping people out. :)

Look through the local paper, some have a section on volunteer groups looking for help, even the phone book may offer ideas...it's best if you find something you'd like to do, there are many different groups/activities you can help with from schools to hospitals, to the SPCA.
