Any one recommend a voice to text program - free would be nice, but I doubt that is possible.

We need to take statements off a digital recorder and turn it into a document - any one do this before?

Not free, but there is Dragon Naturally Speaking. That's the only one I have heard of. IMO, it much easier to type it out.

Yea I agree with just typing it out - I did try Natural Dragon Speaking and it was a lot of time spent on something that worked halfass

Dragon naturally speaking is good, but it has to be trained, and therefore it only works with one person's voice (at least last time I used it - it could have improved in the past six years I guess). For stuff off a voice recorder that is probably more than one voice, it wouldn't work very well.

The problem with Voice to Text programs is that it has to learn your speaking style; so I'm not sure how well that software will work for you.

i consult for an attorney's office that uses Dragon Naturally speaking for all of their voice to text stuff, and it seems to work great for them. Penguin is right though, it takes training, and will only work with a single operator.

So it sounds like it hasn't really changed in the six years or so since I used it last :mamoru:
