How do I use the video in capability of my 7800GT? I don't even know where to begin.

    This stuff has bad documentation.
    Thanks..

Another question, what is a good software i can use (open source, over the counter, what ever) to use the input as TV on my desktop? Doesn't have to be anything fancy.. the picture has to just show up on my desktop.

    try http://egg.real.com/vivo-player/vivodl.html ?

however, .vivo is a file format and is not related to your video card

I'm not sure what you're asking in your second question. You want to use your computer as a TV? If so, you'll need a special tuner card for that.

yes while there is a .vivo format, i meant vivo as in "video in video out".

I think I have figure everything out so far with some difficulty.

I have a program called Dscaler and that is supposed to work (but unsupported) with my 7800GT. Now the question im wondering is if the 7800GT and various programs support the input of a HD 780p signal.

if you want to get anywhere with the open source stuff, you'll have to ditch ATI. Nvidia provies linux and drivers for free. ATI is still hanging on to their source.

    Blah I give up!

NVidia has some serious driver limitations with all the features that the card supposidly supports.

If they are going to advertise that the card is capable of VIVO, it should be able to take in a freaking signal!
