I never realized how bad my family is with heart problems until i was talking with my dad the other day. I don't think he eats healthly all the time, but he had to have 5 stints put in and one of the nurses said he was like walking death. Another uncle of mine runs i think 5 miles a day and i think he has two stints.

My last cholesterol level was 203 so i'm trying to bring that down by eating better. So far I've lost 8 pounds just by cutting soda and sweet tea and eating alot of fat free, reduce fat stuff.

I want to start taking some vitamins to promote a healthy heart so i started taking a multivitamin from the OneSource brand and an omega3 fish oil supplement. Is there another vitamin i could be taking to help out to lower cholesterol or just heart wise? i know, kinda long, thanks.

MultiVitamin, CoQ12, Red Yeast Rice, clean diet, lower the sodium intake, get healthy fats in you (see the archives for a thread on healthy fats), regular doctor check ups, lean meat, no smoking, lower the amount of stimulants, do cardio, lift weights.

if you get some CoQ12 (most stores will carry it in the vitamin/mineral section - I get mine at Wal Mart) get the kind with garlic in it, garlic is supposedly good for the heart as well. You'll get a pretty nice garlic burp 20min after taking it, but thats it.

Be sure to get your Omega 3 fatty acids. Fish oil, flaxseed oil, and hamburger grease.
