At work I'm going to be buying either VS .NET or VB 6 to write a little app. we'll be using. I know VB like the back of my hand and have written numerous programs with it. .NET is a bit more pricey (maybe $200 extra) but I wonder if it would be worth getting so I can learn for the future.

I also thought that .NET has VB built in - as in I could code VB if I bought Visual Studio - if I didn't grasp it right away.

Just wondering what you guys think.

Definitely get .NET. The extra $200 will be worth it in the long run.

.NET is the way to go. Do yourself a favor and use C#, not VB.NET :greddy:

Whoa, This is the first time i actually have heard of J#. I must be living under a rock, but I didn't know that it will allow you to add in Java.

    Pretty cool in my eyes.

I think I am confused on how to run this thing. I downloaded the application and installed it. Now how do I run it? Do I need to have Visual Studio .net installed?
