Well, all in all I am happy with the night of lifts. As I had posted before, I was hoping to not bench at all as my shoulder is injured (lots of tears); however I had to bench in the end and it was not good.

I cut from 205 ish down to the 198 pound catagory in a couple of days. I ended up at 195 in the weight in at 1:00 today, and lifted finally at about 4:00 pm. To be honest, I felt excited about the lifts, but I felt exhausted as I hadn't eaten from about 6 PM the yesterday till 1:30 PM today and I was quite anxious.

Regardless, here are a couple vids... my bud managed to get a couple of videos, but missed a few as well. I will post up the rest tomorrow.

    Squat - 3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNPTo0iAToA)

    Dead - 3 (failed) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDu4ODFGj7Q) - Got 240kg on attempt 2, no vid though.

I didn't get a chance to talk to the judges, but did I fail my dead lift because of the hitch?

squat looked good dude, DL you would've been fine if you just stuck with it instead of a early hitch. You easily had the weight just had to wait out the lockout as opposed to force it with a hitch.

Thanks, I was told baby powder on the thighs would help this. Once I train with a belt on my dead I think I could hit a little more weight.

yeah, feds should tailor their hitch callings based on videos of deaselweasel.

rules are rules. that is a blatant hitch.

hitching like you did is usually an indicator that you aren't squeezing your glutes and driving your hips through at the top. Regardless... great job man, takes balls to step onto the platform.

Thanks for the compliments! My numbers last night were definately my maximum for the night. I have lifted 10-15% more in the gym on a regular basis, but that's when I weigh a little more and I not completely exhausted from not eating or drinking for over 12 hours.
Gotta say the guys that lifted with me last night were awesome as was the overall competition.

I think my total was around 1250. Nothing to write home about, but I am happy with it.

The reason my dead failed according to the IPF rule book:

    2. (blue)
    Any downward movement
of the bar before it reaches
the final position. If the bar
    settles as the shoulders
    come back this should not
    be reason to disqualify the
    lift.
    Supporting the bar on the
    thighs during the
    performance of the lift.
    If
the bar edges up the thighs
but is not supported, this is
    not reason for
    disqualification.

Looks like I'll be bringing baby powder next time.

you had the strength but you just had to grind it up instead of jerking it up like you did.

    Nice work brohampton.
