Night after night thieves have been trying to break the locks at a neighbor's business; this has given us countless sleepless nights.

We need a video survellaince camera that will work under these conditions:
    1) Low light
    2) That will have decent camera (to see a face) at 20ft or more
    3) Be able to record approx. 8 hours on vhs, dvd, anything

Budget is $300 for the whole kit or perhaps a little more if the quality is right. Are there any recommendations?

    Thanks,
    Alex

Instead of low light capability, which will look grainy even on the best ccd's why not bathe the area with an infrared light?
The thieves won't be able to see it, not naked eye anyway, and you can use a standard camcorder feeding its signal to a vhs recorder.

Set this up in a van parked across the street or something.

Better yet, hide in the van, and "let" them break in, and then call the cops.
    Keep the tape as evidence.
