everytime I play a video file (any video file: avi, wmv, mpeg, etc...) the color is desaturated and very grainy.

doing the usualy diagnostics, I found a solution to temporarily fix the problem by disabling DirectDraw. it plays fine with that off. however, I need to turn it back on when I play games since disabling DirectDraw also disables Direct3D, and that's annoying to do each time.

I'm going to try and reinstalling the vid drivers (6800gt w/ 77.72) and directX all with drivercleaner and directx eradicator and see if that fixes it. this is the 1st time having this problem and I've had DX9c for a while before I upgraded my system and did a fresh install.

just wondering if any of you guys had or have this problem. :dunno:

I had a similar problem with my PCX 5750 with 77.72 drivers. It was a color correction problem. Check the settings under the Nvidia properties under the color correction settings and try resetting everything to defaults.
