does anybody have any suggestions on good video editing programs that will accept almost all file types? I have Adobe Premiere 6.0 and it seems that most file types I import are "invalid" or can not be imported, etc. Also, when I play it back in preview mode, it skips about every 2 seconds, same when it's rendered and try to play it back, what gives?

I want to make compilations. I belong to another forum and they have all their car videos. I want to put them together and be able to edit each one and put it to music, add effects, etc. but since it's a bunch of people, there are severeal media types and they don;'t import into adobe premiere

use tmpgenc to convert all the videos to mpg then use premiere to edit, add music and such.

Sony Vegas rocks. Its very intuitive (unlike Premiere), and does a lot.
