I commissioned a new rig to be put together 3 weeks ago. All the other parts has came and my guru has it all put together except for the video card. Wanted a 260. Like i said, it's been three weeks. Should i get a 275, 280, 285 or 295? Has anybody seen them in action?

What resolution will you be gaming at? Honestly, the best resource I know of for deciding what video card to get is Tom's Hardware's monthly "Best Bang for the Buck" GPU article. They go through each price point & resolution and list what the best cards out right now are.

    http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-graphics-card,2387.html <-- August's article.

Article says Radeon 4850 will own most games at 1680x1050, does well at 1920x1200.

For 1920, either the 4870 or GTX260 will do well.

I have the gtx 260 and a 4870 1gb both running games at 1920x1080 and they have no problems at that resolution. I even tried the 260 on my dads 2560x1600 res monitor and it did fine for champions online with 8xAA and and high settings but I didn't try it with any other games

and newegg has the 4870 1gb for like 140 i think, so it is not expensive at all for what you get

Depends what resolution you're gaming at and if you're going with SLI or not. Top top top of the line currently is three 285GTXs in SLI but if you're going with single card GPU the 295 is the best but it is ~$500 sooo... really depends. I've seen a lot of people get 275's and they like them. I had a 4870x2 and it was great, loud as fuck but great.
