What are the current and ones coming out soon?
9800 XT, but you basically already made yours one...
The nVidia FX 5950 is coming out soon, or is already out, im not sure... its def not as fast as an XT or 9800 pro though
Supposedly Doom 3 will require way more power than 9800 Pro. So what card will be able to handle it then?
no it wont
why don't you worry about it when the game actually comes out...
The ATI Radeon 9800 Pro is one of the fastest video cards available today. It will be able to play Doom 3 quite nicely (albeit, likely at lower settings), as well as allow you to play current games with the eye candy turned on. The community of ATI fans has grown substantially and the availability of modified drivers, BIOS files and tweaking utilities can only allow for more satisfaction with the product. try the alpha and see if it looks good enough for you...

It's out and is like 16 grand
32FPS i shit you not

I ran Doom3 on my Ti-89 just fine
your sarcasm detector is busted
it was like 16fps at 1024x768
go on AIM
Just signed on... Black2ndGenL
the game's not even finished - I like how they can tell exactly how and on what it will run
i wish i didn't
i can build a good one.. just not tweak it.. i just want it it to run reliably..
No! For the fucking love of god. There's no way a game will require such hardware. The developers will never do such a thing, because excluding 99% percent of PC users out there would be a suicide.
I reckon a 1 - 1.4GHz CPU and a DX7 - 8 video card will be sufficient to play the game.
Keep in mind that the alpha was highly unoptimized. THe final version will have a much higher performance.
Come back when you have a slightest idea about PCs, mmm-kay?
