9800 XT, but you basically already made yours one...

The nVidia FX 5950 is coming out soon, or is already out, im not sure... its def not as fast as an XT or 9800 pro though

Supposedly Doom 3 will require way more power than 9800 Pro. So what card will be able to handle it then? :hs:

why don't you worry about it when the game actually comes out...

    Bottom Line

The ATI Radeon 9800 Pro is one of the fastest video cards available today. It will be able to play Doom 3 quite nicely (albeit, likely at lower settings), as well as allow you to play current games with the eye candy turned on. The community of ATI fans has grown substantially and the availability of modified drivers, BIOS files and tweaking utilities can only allow for more satisfaction with the product. If you got any comments, be sure to hit us up in our forums.

No! For the fucking love of god. There's no way a game will require such hardware. The developers will never do such a thing, because excluding 99% percent of PC users out there would be a suicide.
    I reckon a 1 - 1.4GHz CPU and a DX7 - 8 video card will be sufficient to play the game.

Keep in mind that the alpha was highly unoptimized. THe final version will have a much higher performance.
