So, my computer is kinda old... about 6-7 years maybe?

Asus A7N8X deluxe motherboard, AMD 2400xp cpu, 1gb of ram, GeForce 4 Ti4800 video card...

A couple days ago, when I turned on my computer the screen was all blurry and it would go black for 3-5 seconds, then come back perfect, then black again, and would be blurry again. I restarted my computer and it was fine.

Fast forward to today... Computer is fine for a couple hours, then I go to watch a movie and come back, move the mouse to get rid of the screensaver, and it's blurry. I click to open Firefox, and it lags a lot. Screen goes black, and comes back with Mozilla open but not loaded and half the screen is blurry.

This goes on and on so I just turn my computer off by holding the power button on the tower.. I couldn't turn it off by pressing start > shut down.

Does this mean my video card is dying? or what else could be the problem?

Thanks for any help in advance.

I had a monitor that did that on the DVI interface. Switching to VGA fixed it. Bad controller, methinks.
