I'm torn between getting an ATI X800XT All in Wonder or an X850XT. I can get either of these for the same price, or I can get an X800XL for $70 cdn less. My primary usage will be for gaming and I'll have it hooked up to my new Dell 2005FPW.

Not sure which one to get.

    Thanks

Cliff: Need new ATI Video card

I had the same problem. I would up spending $450 American for my X800 XT PE. Just below X850 stats, but saved $125 which bought my PC5400 ram.

Although, if your looking for best bang for your buck, I suggest Nvidia 6800 GT. I set my heart on X800 since I wanted top line and played mostly HL2, and similar games. Compared to Nvidia's running Doom3 better, incase you didn't know.

fwiw, the Ati X800Pro is unplayable in Doom3, imo. And the 6600 plays HL2 at MAX res. So you can say that ATi is better at HL... But it's not. And ATi is shit for Doom3. I'll take the company that does BOTH right -- nVidia.

Ok let me give some more information here. My current card is a 9700 Pro it's almost unplayable in BF2, at anything over 800x600 medium. Unfortunately 6800 GT's (Specificaly BFG's) is really expensive up in Canada. I can get ATI cards for less than Nvidia's unfortunately

    ATI X800XL $290 cdn
    ATI X800XT AIW $360 cdn
    ATI X850XT $360 cdn
BFG 6800 GT OC $450 cdn

so based upon this latest information should I still go with Nvidia? Any other suggestions?

how much is a 6600GT up there? I'd rather have a 6600GT than those ATi cards.

and 6600GT's are usually around the $200 in Canada.

Honestly the 6600GT is so fast and so cheap that I can't see a point in buying a higher end card for the time being. If you must I would go with the ATi if it's that much cheaper.
