Sigh. I just bought a used XFX 6600GT 128mb PCI-E card for some light gaming (WoW) basically just to replace my crap onboard graphics. I know the card is not fried because it powers up and the fan is spinning.

I can't get my effing computer to recognize it! I keep disabling my current card, and uninstalling the drivers, then I reboot, log back in and they just reinstall themselves.

I've tried going through BIOS but there is literally NO option for what I need to do. No GPU option at all.

My dad said there may be some little jumper somewhere on my MOBO that I can switch.

Are there any other possibilities? I'm getting really frustrated.

BTW, I'm using a PCChips p55g mobo and Vista.

Thanks for your help...really apprecaite it.

Check your mobo manual for that jumper?

Try intsalling your new drivers first and then uninstalling your onboard ones. Just a guess though.

I've checked my user guide and manual for the jumper info. Nothing. Totally worthless.

    I'll try that second suggestion.
