Im looking at buying a new system and i want to know what everyone thinks

I was originally going to get a single 7950gt but would 2 8600's in sli be better?

How do stream procs compare to pixel pipes?

    thanks

the 8800GTS rev 2 seems to be the last change to the 8800 line. i would go for that, and possibly upgrade the 9 series in feb 08

Not sure how soon you need it but maybe when the 98xx series comes out early next year there will be alot of people selling their 8800gt/s cards.

I have an evga 7950GT KO superclocked 512MB card that plays COD4 pretty darn good that I may sell. I just got the 8800GT.

    SLI is good.

I have two 8800 GTX 768MB. SLI does improve performance but not as much as you would think. For me I get anywhere from 2 to 30 fps improvement depending on the app being run

    :ugh:

    that's the point

you're fucking stupid to pick a 7950GT or 8600 SLI over an 8800

    Depending on your budget,

    HD3850
    HD3870
    8800GT
