So I'm finally upgrading my video card after buying splinter cell and I was wondering what I should go with. I know very little about video cards so any tips? And what bus type should I get? AGP or PCI? or does that depend on my pc?(I think I have a PCI).

    Anyway here are my specs:

    Sony Vaio
    Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1.5 GHz
    256 mb Ram
NVidia Riva TNT2 Model 64 pro

Definately go with an AGP card..
Problem is... you have a Sony VAIO... and I know people with pretty recent Vaio's and they don't have AGP slots.

If you don't have an AGP slot, you're stuck with getting a PCI card (unless you replace that motherboard).

I honestly don't even know if they're still releasing recent video cards for PCI slots :dunno:

yeah definitely go with AGP, its meant for graphics to begin with and what are you planning to do? if its editing movies and stuff go with ATI but gaming got with NVidia and you also have to make sure that you have the right speed for the port. Most likely you have a 4x AGP but if you go hi end u'll need 8X

Yeah PCI ownz me......I went to best buy the other day just to look at what they had and most of their video cards were AGP. I think think I might go with a Nvidia geforce since they seem to have the largest selection for PCI.
