    15 years old competing in USAPL trying to beat the american record single lift of 350 shirted. i am around 285 raw right now. (comp is in 8 months)

    u should call play it again sports or some place like that, ive heard that sometimes they see have cheap used olympic bars and plates

    nah ive seen them on craigslist for pretty cheap. its getting hard to deadlift cuz i have no space on the bar( i rep 350 x 5 on deads) so i might be gettin some new shit soon. but i have over 500lbs of standard size hole weights so im not gunna get an oly bar but it will be longer

    seriously if you want to bench in a comp, probably would help to train with the right bars and weights (and no foam pad).
    the longer bar may feel completely different benching with the weights further away and may sway differently if you get my drift.

    i was like 5'8 130 at 15 :hs: i bet my bench max would have been around 95 pounds. LOL

    yea i usally lift at my school(they have an olympic bench/bar/weights) but during the football season the weight room is closed cuz u need one of the coaches to be in the weight room w/ u but during football season the coaches are out w/ the teams.

    bro, i'm scared for you. i know you have said that if you were to fail a lift, you would simply roll the bar off, but that's the thing, this is the kind of shit that can hit you unexpectedly and end you. if this shit slips and falls on your face, you're done, or you might get stuck one day and not be able to roll it off and just die there. no matter how confident you are, i say you should always have a spotter or safer methods.

    A lot of guys that I lifted with on the football team my freshman year (15 year old) were around that weight. I was like 185 and only 5' 7" at the time. I never benched 285 raw though... thats crazy! I was more like 235 my freshman year.

    Jesus christ man. No matter how hard I try I would never be able to do that at that age. Even at 18 no matter how hard I try on bench I just fucking suck at it. Maybe its genetics that my chest never grows. The most weight I can do is 180. :wtc:

    I think we have all said this before but take a vid of you in a real gym, bar and plates - not the tonka weights and bar.

    ok, i do have some new 50lb plates that i got like 2 weeks ago. so i have 4-50lb plates and 2-25lb plates so i can load on 280 of real plates. but i see what your saying. ill try to get some vids for ya guys once the football season is over and i can get into the weight room.

    oh and just incase you are wondering.. i dont do all bench press. i can deadlift 425. and squat 275 for 5x5 sets. dont no what im 1rm is in that.

    my brother was really strong and was over 6 foot starting around FOURTH GRADE
