    I speculate it won't be as drastic as the first one. This time around, I reckon the sites which are over-valued (all the mashups, apps, etc.) will die down or shut down, while sites that focus on providing actual service or content will remain popular and profitable. It won't be about people losing faith in the internet or overpriced advertising causing advertisers to pull out of the medium. It'll be from a misappropriation of the web developers' talents and ideas.

    These "web 2.0" ideas are surely clever, but most of them (to me) have little or no actual value.

    As for when... I don't know. Probably a slow progression that happens over time.
