I'm looking for a replacement for my Geforce ti 4200. I just want something new in my computer, it's 2+ years old and I haven't changed a thing and I think it's time to do some type of upgrade.

These following 2 cards are ones that I would consider getting. No interest really in HL2 or Doom3 even though I've read up that these 2 cards can support them.

Now will I be seeing a nice boost in performance, and which one is better for fps gaming? I don't want to throw away 300 bones, I would want to make sure I get what I pay for ya know.
Those newest cards cost $500+ and I'm not that hardcore [IMG]

    quick specs:
    2.2ghz
    512mb ram

ATI Radeon 9800 Pro AGP 128MB Video Card

    OR

ATI Radeon 9600XT 128MB AGP Video Card

Both cost the same @ $299.99.
