ok, so i just got my tattoo today.
ok, so the guy put this goop on it, and wrapped it up.
told me to take the wrap off in 2 hours, &then wash with soap &water
&put a small very thin layer of a&d ointment on it, &to put more on it it gets dry.
    so im doing all this.
i got my tattoo around 2.30pm today.
    now its about 10.30.
i`ve applied a&d twice, &it looks like my tattoo is coming off or something?!?

    is this supposed to happen?
is it just like, leftover pigment that was too near the surface?
    please help?!

i tried to take pics, but the little flakes of colour don`t show up with the only camera i have - my phone.

    please help. :wtc:

If their dried looking flakes thats just some small scabbing, the whole tattoo will look like that during the healing process.

Remember not to keep it covered all the time with ointment, it's just like a cut or scrape, it needs some fresh air eventually to let it heal.

2 hours is all he said to leave it on, thats weird, i've left mine on for almost 24 hours after, as for the flaking it is probably just scabbing, dont scratch it, dont peel it, it should be fine in a few days.......oh and pics?

edit: saw pics in other thread

That is very odd. Just make sure you do not scratch at it. And when you are washing it, do it very lightly... I dont even let water directly touch it for a few days. When I take a shower, I cover it with a face cloth and clean it after my shower is over.

As far as ointment goes... just enough to cover it

    .

just keep an eye on it. tattoos do strange things while they are healing. it's probably nothing to worry about - follow the aftercare you've been given and find out what the touch-up policy is if needed. chances are you're fine though.

Ya... to much is as bad as to little.. Sometimes when I thought I may have put to much I'd use a paper towel pat it until the excess was gone.

when I had my half sleeves done I had rainbow cornflakes all over the place. it was pretty sick. I'd wake up and half multicolored skin stuck to my bed.

A&D tends to make tattoos ooze, it's mainly just blood and perspiration but when it comes out it will bring a little ink with it. Don't worry there is plenty of ink jammed into your skin so it's not all going to come out. This should stop in the next 5 days or so. The flakes are the same stuff just dried and coming off, also normal. As the tattoo heals up you will see less ooze and blood and more flakes/scabs. Bottom line let the tattoo heal itself, don't touch it any more than you have to for washing and applying A&D and later on mild lotion. Two weeks you will be back to normal.

its scabbing pretty bad right now.
its hard not to pick it, but i`m doing good so far!

i think i might have to get the red on the inside touched up, because it looks a little blotchy, but we`ll see once it heals all up.
