im thinking of getting a vertical labret as my 1st piercing

... what about chapped lips? my lips get chapped alot and i use alot of chapstick, how much of a problem will that be and can it increase the chances of rejection?

Chapped lips won't cause migration since the piercing goes deeper than the chap-i-ness (no idea how to conjugate that word). But hitting the ring with a tube of chapstick a few times a day before it heals could piss it off a bit and slow down healing.

I know a lot of people who use chapstick religiously and have lip piercings. My advice would be if you have to use chapstick, use it sparingly, and be very careful putting it on, use a mirror if you can, just to make sure. Do your best to not knock the piercing around of tug on it until it heals.

I agree with the above post.. but also try and use a vasoline type chapstick... the more liquidy types will be easier to apply or you could try just applying it around the piercing

imo i wouldnt use a vasoline based chapstick, any type of petroleum product isnt good for piercings. will clog the piercing up prolonging healing

it should be done with either a properly bent surface bar, or a curved bar depending on the anatomy of the person being pierced
