this was more directed towards people in the industry. but I really understand what you're talking about with all the examples you gave.

hmm, expenses might have something to do with the fact that we aquired a failing company for quite a bit of money. Did you really expect the numbers to be that high :ugh2:

let me guess, you've been reading consumer reports too :greddy:

I live in the heart of Dallas and Verizon signal in my house still is not up to par with T-Mobile. :)

well the number was expense per customer meaning how much it costs to maintain that customer. that has nothing to do with the 41b they spent on at&t. and no i didn't read the consumer reports, i work for vzw.
    so if it the avg rev / cust is $50 - $30 expense / cust = $20 profit /cust
    as opposed to $49 - $37 = $12 profit / cust
$8 is a huge difference when talking about 44-47 million customers. Then factor in churn, cingular's is twice as high.

anyway my main beef with cingular is their commission structure. I quit at&t nov 14th (day before changeover), b/c I saw more and more cuts in commission, trying to make it more "cingular" like. If I could get paid what I was w/ at&t two years ago, I'd still be there. verizon's accelerator is great.

i believe that, can't be the best everywhere. Never been to dallas, but around here tmobile reception sucks. at least tmobile is finally turning a profit, although they are cutting back on their commissions as well (see above post) :squint: . The whole industry is going to shit.

T-Mobile USA is profiting. Deustche Telecom on the other hand is playing catchup with their debt from a couple years back. As I said, in my house, Verizon signal is usually about 50% while my P910 gets full bars most of the time. Sometimes it'll bounce between 4 and 5 bars but on very rare occasion. :)

Very true. our commission structure is horrible compared to what ATT was making. I wish we would have adopted that structure intsead. But I've just recently moved into sales (though I have been doing sales since I started) and I've only been on this pay scale. Everyone else complains about how bad it is but its all I've know of commission. :hs:
