I think Vera's finally got his shit together and he's gonna show everyone how good he really is this fight.

i think he's going to annoy the same haters that already hate him cause he;s going to keep the fight on the feet and win a decision because he is longer and faster than Randy but won't risk the loss going for the highlight reel KO.

at least vera in a small way is humble. anyone catch the part where he wants randy to be proud of him or something?

wow, freaking stoked. Huge fan of both of them- this is going to be a great fight.
also, looking forward to Kang hopefully coming out and beating Bisping.

He's waiting until his 15th fight to show everybody how good he is? I'm thinking what we've seen so far IS how good he really is. And I expect Couture to beat his ass.

IIRC, Vera has never fought a strong wrestler (unless you count Werdum who controlled him on the ground and won via premature ref stoppage).

    Should be an interesting fight.

Well he already showed how good he was in first four fights in the UFC...but a lot of people didn't see those or remember them.

He spent the beginning of his career getting by on pure talent. Which works against guys like justin eilers and fabiano sherner and fat mir.

But it will be interesting to see how he shows up in england. He was supposed to be in his top form against Sozynski, and he couldn't put him away.

I have faith he's still trying to get his conditioning and mental strength on par with his talent, but I am also regretting putting an av bet on him.

He beat a couple of nobodies, a dead guy, and Frank Mir who hadn't fought in 4 years. Sure, they're wins, but not especially impressive.

Well, to be fair you could say he tried fighting Krystoff in southpaw stance for the vast majority of the fight :dunno:

I think he'd do alot better if he was more aggresive :dunno:

seems like he's to scared to pull the trigger sometimes

duh, that's been his issue ever since he took a year off of fighting. He lost the confidence and aggressiveness he used to have.

My gut says that Vera's going to get crushed. The way he was talking, though, it's like they're setting him up for a shot against Machida. Maybe the brass just assumes that Randy is old enough that he can't stand up to a "young talent" like Vera.
