so i have been working on my site and just made this new menue navigation system and when i look at in firefox its all good, when i look at it in IE it looks like crap (the pic in the background of the nav bar repeats cause the window is bigger in IE and it doesn't stay static to the top of the broswer window while the content scrolls, which all works in firefox)

    www.photogpoint.com

    my external style sheet code

example code of a basic page that i use it in

check it out in both firefox and IE

tips for making sites work on most browsers applications?

    thanks! :x:

not viewing but im gonna say the good old box problem,
FF renders it correctly(100px div with a 5 px border takes up 110px from edge to edge)
IE renders it horribly(100px div with a 5px border no border area is only 90px so the border takes up those missing 10px)

hope the examples make sense i haven't found a real good solution i like yet

    Use the IE7 library - http://dean.edwards.name/ie7/

It slows down rendering a bit in IE, but not too noticably. And it makes things render relatively correctly.

check out "bulletproof design with css" the ebook is readily available through BT. There's a resolution for the box problem in there. (It's completely unintuitive but it works.)
