any vegetarians out there? I feel like I might be protein deficient. I really do try to get enough, but I know there are complete proteins and incomplete and blah blah blah.
I mix beans and rice a lot, eat nuts, and yogurt.

Any tips? I'm really not into supplements, and I'm usually pretty busy.
    Thanks!

I used to be completely veg, started eating fish again to get omega 3 fatty acids.

Legumes and grains are your friends - soy beans, lentils, etc. Breakfast of tvp sausage is always a good thing. If you are athletic, you aren't going to hurt yourself by buying just a 5 lb jar of powdered whey and drinking it once a day with Skim milk. I wasn't 'into' it either, but it certainly makes me sleep well at night.

Eggs are good, egg white scramble is always decent.

    Almonds for a quick snack.

TEMPEH IS DELICIOUS and high in protein.

thank you crown royal. I started eating a little bit of fish too, but I stay away from it for the most part.

I might need to start with the supplements, but the only dairy in my diet right now is the yogurt in the morning. Will it hurt if I haven't had too much dairy in a few years?

I've been vegetarian for almost 20 years and was vegan for two of those. When I started having dairy again it would always make me bloated and sick. It gets better though, but I'd ease into it. Years later and sometimes dairy, if I have a lot, still makes me sick.

This is a good answer. No vegetarian has ever heard this little gem of advice.

Just saying, you choose to live a life style uncommon to the civilization/species then wah wah about not getting enough protein when the obvious source is right in front of you. 22g of protein in a 4oz chicken breast at 120 calories I cant think of anything other than whey or a similar supplement that will get you that.

Uhh...I didn't complain about not getting enough protein. I get around 200-250g per day. :squint:
