It's Finally Time to Order Your VCDL License Plates!!!

We have finalized our design for the VCDL license plates and are now ready to begin collecting applications and fees so that we will be ready when the 2009 session begins.

If you are still in a position to show your pride as a gun owner and as a member of VCDL by placing a VCDL license plate on one or more of your vehicles, then please follow the steps below as soon as possible.

Step 1
------
Complete and print a DMV application FOR EACH VEHICLE on which you wish to place a VCDL plate.

Application Notes
-------------------

•
[*] The fee for the plate will be $10. If the plate will be personalized however, the fee will be $20.
[*] You will first need to indicate if this will be a new plate or if you intend to transfer your existing plate
[*] Under TYPE OF PLATE, check Special Interest and indicate "VCDL" as the organization
[*] If you are ordering or transferring a personalized plate, please note that the proposed VCDL design will only accommodate 6 characters
[*] Even though the application offers the use of credit cards, we ask that you pay via check only please.
[*] Checks will need to be made payable to VCDL ... NOT to the DMV!

Step 2
-------
Send the completed application, along with your fee of either $10 (regular) or $20 (personalized) to VCDL at:

VCDL
Attn: License Plates
P.O. Box 513
Newington, VA 22122

*** IMPORTANT Reminder: Checks should be made payable to VCDL ***

Step 3
-------
Anxiously await the 2009 General Assembly's approval of our design and the DMV's issuance of your very own VCDL license plate!!!

It has been a long time coming and we truly and deeply appreciate the dedication and patience of our members as we have worked to make this possible!

in VA you can only open carry into restaurants that sell alcohol :greddy:

but, VCDL is a big advocate of OC, they do have OC events and all

one of these days I'll get up the balls to OC here. its just that I am in the shadow of DC, 4 miles away, and I'd rather not deal with....the shit that may come.

I conceal carry constantly though.

GA does not issue a CCW. They issue a GFL (georgia firearms license). It is required for open or concealed carry.

Not quite "pretty much anywhere" and if you were to be dumb enough to carry and drink and get caught it's only a misdemeanor.

Damn, that shit's CHEAP. Our license plates are like $100, plus another $100+ if you want personalized.

Edit: Plus another $100 - $200 per year for tabs, depending on year and model of car :ugh:

Is that including ad velorem tax? That's insane for a fucking license plate.

I just paid $58 total for my ad velorem and tag this year. No emissions test in this county. And I have a specialty tag, too.

No idea what you're talking about. MN is one of the highest taxed states in the country.
Everyone thinks it's small-town USA here, but it's expensive as fuck to live here.
