    Uhm...

    1. Do you have IMG tags enabled for the overall site? How about in the forum you're setting up?

    2. What is the syntax of the image file you're trying to post? Does the host allow hot-linking?

    3. Do you have custom avatars enabled? Do you have the proper tables setup in the DB for avatars? Have you enabled/allowed customers to upload custom images?

    4. Does your host permit outgoing email?

    1. IMG Tags do not appear to be on...how do I turn them on?
    2. The syntax is okay, I am hotlinking them from my site.
    3. What changes need to be made to the Database? I have enabled them (or I missed the setting)
    4. My host is my Server box with Microsoft Exchange. I control all emails, no off-site hosting. :big grin:

Check the rights on the folders containing all of your graphics, the internet guest account needs to have read/write access to this folder.

As for email, sendmail won't work so route it through an SMTP server instead.

Like zadams said for the e-mail you will have to use SMTP. There is a setting in your php.ini under the e-mail section that allows you to choose between forwarding the mail and using SMTP. Just make sure that you use an SMTP server that allows relaying. Most of the time only your ISP's will allow this.

In the PHP ini file SMTP has been set up as localhost, mail.mydomain.com, smtp.mydomain.com, and mydomain.com I have a test php script that tests the send mail and it only sends to my org, not outside of it. So I have the mail off, as for the avatars, the IUSER_SERVERNAME has read and write access to the dir, but still no go... I have set up a Red Hat box, and I gotta get send mail working. Time to learn teh Linux :hs:

Just put int he address of your ISP's mail server. Then you will be able to delivery mail remotely.
