It's been rumored that the current VX220/Speedster is coming to America as a Pontiac. That won't happen, but it's likely that the next VX car will show here in some form, perhaps as a Solstice-type roadster?

This is what we need instead of the Solstice. Pontiac could even dredge up the Fiero name for all I care, just bring it here!

Yep. Why is it so difficult for American manufactures to understand? Lightweight, no-frills, well-engineered sports cars will sell. Look at the pent-up demand for the Elise.

I think they are having all the problems with "well-engineered sports cars" part.

Yeah, and it won't be Elise-based anymore. That's what was so good about the VX220/Turbo.

America's Excitement brand NEEDS this, not an Aztek replacement. We got the GTO (sort of)...now why not something pure like this?!

Yeah, I like the Noble too.:bigthumb:

I guess it comes down to which engine you'd rather have: A GM Ecotec or a Ford Duratec.:sad2:

Funny that the only way GM can make a decent chassis is by copying someone else's...a destitute English one at that, owned by a Malaysian company

either that or they can just throw money at it

I guess if you want great sports cars you need to live in Europe. Elise, VX220, Caterhams, Noble M12, TVRs, Westfields, Ariel Atom, Alfa 147 GTA, Fiat Barchetta ( ), Smart Roadster, Morgans...

GM badges the 'ECOTEC' generically in many of its motor around the world, especially with the V6. But the real ECOTEC that GM toutes as its global engine is the 2.2L and 2.0L found in the Saab and small cars such as the Opel Vectra, Cavalier, Sunfire, Alero, Saturn.
