When I do my taxes, do I have to state that I paid $55.10 to the Department of Veterans Affairs for a debt? Also, the top of the VA Memo that informed me that I paid off the debt says Deduction Code 54 under my name. Can someone get me up to speed with all this?

What happened was this: After I left the service, I was no longer eligible for Chapter 1607 GI Bill, which gave me $660 a month. I could only receive Chapter 1606 from then on. 1606 paid around $330 a month. So they used my benefits from September 2008 through December 2008 to pay off whatever debt I owed. After I finished college, I ended up with a remaining debt balance of $55.10. So I paid that off.
