I've heard that Verizon/Motorola has turned most of the bluetooth features off (mainly the computer syncing). I know motorola's website sated that it will be available before the end of the year. Any body had this probelm or know when there going to fix it?

I have also read that, but do not know the answer to your question. My new V710 showed up yesterday. Speaking of that, I need to activate it.

Let me know if you can get bluetooth to work, screw verizon if they think i'm gonna pay 25 cents to get my pictures off my phone.

Activated it and put all my 151 numbers in there tonight at work. I don't like the phone book - it lists each number seperately, even when they are the cell, home, and office of the same person. That is frustrating and makes it take 3x as long to scan through the Phone Book. Ugh.

The rest of the phone is quite nice. The screen quality is very high, IMO.4x zoom with the camera, and I am sure the Bluetooth software will come around.

Another question - can you change the background of the outside screen? Or does it always stay the same absolutely gorgeous purple colors?

That's a motorola FEATURE, it won't be "fixed" on the next gen.

you can make them list each name together, directions below:

    1)go to phonebook
    2)go to phonebook menu
    3)go to setup
    4)change view to primary contacts

if you need to change primary numbers, go to menu under persons name, find "change primary" and change it to the number you want.

    your welcome.

Does anyone know if it has a list by number system... or is it like VX6000 listing, where it is not data slots if that makes sense.

obviously since this issue is a motorla issue. should i aim for the 710 then.. cause the VX8000 doesn't look to appetizing and it seems big. plus the vx7000 doesn't have half the toys in a phone.

Eh, that's the way all new motorolas are, v60 was the same way. I didn't like it at first, then i just stopped caring. I'm beginning to think that i'll never have a phone like my startac. If verizon ever makes the switch over to GSM i think the quality of phone will go through the roof. Every good phone is designed for GSM because they want the Europe and Japan market.

I was in the Verizon store here in Waco and the guy was telling me that the President and all his Secret Service Escorts each got a v710 from there this month. He was the one that transfered GW's contacts and stuff over. But that was all he would say

I changed the settings as described above and now I am very happy with the phone book :bigthumb:

BTW: My aunt finally gave up her Startac at the same time that I got my new phone. I think it will always be her favorite as well :wtc:

This thread is kind of old, but I was wondering if you got your contacts in there with bluetooth.
