Anyone excited about this movie? I am planning to see it with friends this weekend at an IMAX theatre.

I am reading the book right now, and it is a great example of goverment going too far.

Yes Brazil is great. Now all they have to do is a good adaptation of 1984 or Brave New World or something.

    I loved it!

It is a great fable on the tyranny of fear that the press and goverment constantly push and I loved the Rush Limbaugh character.

I was amazed by the actor who played V. Even behind a mask, he did an excellent job conveying his emotions just by the way he held his head. Bravo!

I was worried about the Wachowski's after watching the Matrix sequels, but it looks like they are back. Almost as good as the original Matrix, but less violence.

i don't get the part with the little girl? She was shot but was at the end of the movie where everyone took of their masks.

It was metaphorical. The girl was there, the lesbian actor & her lover were there... the ending symbolised freedom for everybody, dead and alive, and even though they're dead, their part in the struggle would not be forgotten.

    Great movie!
I honestly couldn't tell you which movie I enjoyed more, Brazil or VFV.

Finished the book, VFV this morning and I actually preferred the movie more. More coherent & timely. Alan Moore needs to shut up.

Agreed. I thought the movie was fantastic. I couldn't help but think that mask was amazing as it did seem to show emotion given the cant of the actor's head, yet it remained the same at all times. The movie was cerebral, immensely entertaining, and the dialogue was not written for the lowest common denominator. Bravo. :bigthumb:

Just ordered the graphic novel. I haven't been this interested in reading the original work since James O'Barr's The Crow in the early 90's. :bigthumb:
