This problem appeared straight out of the blue. When uTorrent is running, for about 2+ minutes, I cannot access websites. Its basically like I unplugged the cable. I can still chat on MSN, and download, but thats about it. It doesn't matter if Im uploading/downloading at 5KB/s or 800. Once I turn off uTorrent, and reset the router, it starts working.

The problem doesn't seem to be local, since every computer on my network experiences the same problems if uTorrent is running. Turning it off doesn't affect anything until I reset the router.

    What could be causing this?

utorrent is flooding your network with too many connections. your modem/router is choking.

Load DD-WRT and raise how many connections you allow for p2p. Helped me.

but he said doesn't matter if he's uploading at 5kb. If you upload at your max bandwidth, your speed is going to go to shit. For example, my max upload speed is around 65 kbs. I set my upload limit to 35K and its ok. at first it was set at 80k and my internet was down to a crawl.

I believe if your upload speed is ok, you have too many connections as jollyogre said.

When I used to run Kazaa, I always set the upload speeds at a little under half of what I could expect to use.
