I seem to be getting lots of bladder infections! This past summer I had 3 within a 1 1/2 month period. And now i've got another one again... I don't know why I keep getting them! I make sure to go pee right after sex. I've tried taking cranberry suplement pills and acidopholis as soon as I think i might have one but it doesn't seem to get rid of it. Does anyone know if I can do something else to stop these???

Hmmm, cranberry didn't work? Well, I'd suggest keeping the high cranberry consumption, massive veggie consumption, and adding vitamin c megadoses(several grams per day). Combined the synergy of these various compounds might be able to fix it.

See your doctor. It isn't normal or healthy for you to get so many bladder infections. It is possible that they are no recurring but that you are never truly getting rid of them in the first place. You should really consider seeing a specialist also.

you sure they are UTIs? could just be a bruised urethra.

but yeah, pissing after sex, and showering and not getting dehydrated.... :hs:

If they are definitely UTI's then have you tried narrowing down what the common factor may be? If you use condoms and/or lube, then what type are you using? Do you go without a condom? Do any body parts (fingers, tongue, penis) ever go from back to front?

I've heard nonoxyl-9 can help bring on a UTI. If you go without a condom then maybe natural lube is acting as an irritant and/or carrying bacteria from one area to another. Does your husband have (highly) acidic saliva or doesn't keep up with the oral hygene, because his tongue could be carrying bacteria there as well. Saliva that's too acidic could be a potential irritant. If any body part goes from anus to vagina/urethra, then there's a ton of bacteria that would be getting dragged to areas where it desn't belong.

Just some things to think about. :)

Grams? Recco Vit C intake is 75mg/day. Overconsumption will leave you with the runs and an upset stomach. Where did you get this treatment routine from?

to answer some of those: no I don't use condoms. My husband and I are mongomous and since i'm on the Pill we don't see the need for the horrible-rubber-sensation-robbing things! :p

Yes I do use lube... heehee I love lube!:hsd: I used to use KY, but switched to another kind when that stuff ran out. The current one's ingredients are "Water, Glycerine, Propylene Glycol, Gleycerate Polyhydrate, Hydroythyl cellulose, methyl paraben, propylparaben, thyl paraben, butyl paraben, phenoxythanol" lol... if any of that means anything to you!!

No clue if his saliva is acidic... how would I check that? lol And he brushes his teeth 2 X a day so I think he's good on the oral hygine.

I don't think any part every goes from anus to vagina. I know that can cause them, so I try to be careful when I wipe etc...

Anyway, I'll try adding in the vitamin C. I've got a doctors appointment for tomorrow morning so we'll see what she says. It just seems like all the other times all they do is pop me on antibiotics and I'm getting sick of it!

    Thanks everyone!!!

Limit carbonated beverages and drink full-strength cranberry juice when you feel one coming on. And always pee after sex. Good luck....UTIs suck!

It was something my fiance discovered via his dentist. He got cavities so often that his dentist ran a test which basically said his saliva was very acidic compared to the average person. If he brushes twice a day then it probably wouldn't matter too much anyway. :)

If they started up in conjunction with switching lubricants, then it's possible that one of the ingredients might be causing it. Otherwise, it could be any number of things lol.
