My Midwest Industries extended carbine 2 piece rail, Magpul ladder thingies,
and my Viking Tactical light mount showed up today. THe light mount works
ok but I didn't notice it was plastic when I ordered it. Looks like it'll work
    well though.

It's pretty much "tacticooled" aside from an Aimpoint or EOTech or something
    else.

and Rainier Arms ftw. John rocks.

It's probably just barrel distortion in your cameras lens. That sounds really stupid, but that's the term used when camera lenses bend things a little. Kind of funny that it's distorting your AR barrel :p

yeah that's more than likely the culprit. I haven't been using my AR as a
pry bar or anything, and I doubt the not-insignificant effort to get that damn
ring down low enough to snap the rails on would be enough to do anything to
    it.

yeah, the lack of a quick detach is really the only bummer. Oh well, the light
and mount are basically just toys so it's not a big deal.

Went to the range today to try out the flip up sight and then get my scope
    zero'd in......

The range I go to insists you shoot at 50 yards with them watching through
a spotting scope before they'll let you go to a regular bench. I'm a "regular"
there so they were talking about the new stuff on my AR.

Anyway, they freaked out when I popped up the ARMS sight and immediately
put 3 rounds through the bullseye at 50 yards with no adjustment. They
didn't believe that I had never fired the rifle with that sight.

Then I put the scope on and was 6" off :(

By the end of hte day I was shooting a 1" group at 100 yards(w/scope) in winds
gusting to 30mph according to the news.....the range has wind breaks built
in but it was still a bit gusty. I need to go back sometime when it's not
so windy and get it right.

oh yeah....my ARMS #40L ......looks like RRA countoured their scope mount just for it... :)
