I use PNG's on my photography site too. IE6 is like <5% after it became a critical windows update

Most people using IE6 are forced to at work, etc. if they only account for 5%, just do it.

I really do not see it as much more effort to make things IE6 compatible. :dunno:

Yeah, I never understood the bitching. If you have it in mind from the start it is fairly simple.

hopefully next to go will be users looking at webpages through 1024x768 res

i did some field research of my own, went to best buy, they only were selling widescreen monitors on their floor. no 17 inchers from now on as far as im concerned

You're basing that on the assumption everyone with higher screen resolution views websites at fullscreen.

i hate full screening my browser window. i like being able to have shit going on in the background.

that being said, I usually have mine at max vertical height of my monitor and roughly 900-950 pixels in width

He is also assuming everyone is planning on throwing their old shit out, people are creatures of habit and not everyone will switch over to widescreen anytime soon

I easily see over 20% of my traffic using IE6 on most sites, would be a shame for them to see a shitting looking site, I always adjust for IE6, it usually never adds up to more than a few overwrites in a conditional stylesheet, the original code can almost always be adjusted to work across the board.

It's this widescreen shit that pisses me off.. these asshole manufacturers pushing height resolutions of ~768px in their monitor resolutions to accommodate the extra width, I feel like we're moving closer towards 1024x768 than we are away from it. 1024px should be THE minimum height for any modern desktop/laptop, except for the visually impaired

To answer this question, this method always works for me, I think I run the 1.0 version
