Ive downloaded the Apache HTTP server...I have a static IP address, a DNS address, A Gateway and A subnetmask...I own a domain and ive tried to configure the stupid server to host the site and i get no where with it. So please, someone help me!

does it give any errors when starting it? did you configure the httpd.conf file? did you read the documentation? http://httpd.apache.org/

    a) do you have a router? if you do, make sure you forward port 80 to the IP on the local network the server is running on.

    b) using windows IIS might be easier

    c) configure the httpd.conf file. just use the default with bare minimum changes (they are documented right in the file) just to see if it works

    d) if you are running a firewall (even windows xp sp2) make sure you open port 80

Make sure your ISP doesn't have port 80 blocked and that it doesn't violate your TOS
