i dunno if they allow it at LA Fitness..used 'em for shrugs.
oh shrugs. how much were you shrugging where you actually need those?
i use chalk all the time at LA fitness, they havent said anything yet
word. i know a few people who work there, too.. they were one of the guy's (the versa gripps were.) he had just got them that day and i needed some straps cuz my hands were sweaty.. he said i could break them in for him
i'm cool with the general manager at mine. he has to deal with fist fights between people in basketball games so chalk is not an issue.
i just walk into the locker room at my Gold's with one of the towel things, chalk my hands up, then walk back to the bar holding the towel. Nobody notices and no problems yet, even though they're super nazi about the no chalk policy

grip was shot and i didnt feel like sacrificing my traps because i was too cool to use straps.
I wouldn't let some other guy break my grips in, especially if they just told me their hands were sweaty

I've been shrugging and I feel like my forearms are just shot to hell before my traps... I'm thinking of pansying it up rather than just stop my traps from growing so fast.
Should I do that or just deal?
no point in sacrificing one muscle group just because you cant hold the weight.. if your grip starts to give, then your forearms are shot.. they've gotten their workout, so put on the straps and finish the shrugs.
i go strapless for the first 2 sets until i'm either too sweaty, or my arms get too tired.

I use the 90's to shrug and feel pretty strong but my grip just starts to fail. I think if I had chalk I'd be okay though. I should buy some straps so I can feel cool.

Some people sit there and don't even really bring their shoulders up and it's lolable, I see it at my gym along with bent over BB rows that make me out loud and get dirty looks.
