good price? local gun shop has one. From policeman who traded up to a .40. Cosmetically... looks fine. Gun shop owner states great condition. 475 a fair price? I'm basically selling my camera gear to get this and conceal carry before Obama takes office.

Unless it comes with a good holster or other assy's, it's not that great. I paid $489 for a NIB G17 Friday from a local dealer. Saw a very nice used G19 for $415.

well, he just claimed that you can't find them right now due to the obama scare and that no one else has any in stock. Just curious if I should really keep looking or not.

Except he does speak some truth. Check out Davidson's in your area. No G17's were listed when I checked in OR last week. Still too high of a price unless your local market is high.

Depends on where you are. You guys are lucky you can buy a Glock for less than $500 from a local store.

EVERYWHERE in the state of MD they run for $580-$600 for a basic new G17.

However, you can get them online new for about that price if you have an FFL that will do the transfer for you. I normally pay a bit inflated prices to support my local dealer, but when it comes to a Glock and a difference of $140, I buy online.

Basically, if you cant find a new glock for near that price locally, and you want to buy locally, its a good deal...FOR YOU.

fuckin academy sells the glock 19 brand new for 500 bucks. that's what gets me, then this guy wants to sell me a used glock 17 for 475. I'm going to see if academy has any in stock, may end up being a better deal.

    Personally I wouldn't pay that. My last G17 I got for $350.

Granted, there might be somewhat of a temporary shortage, but I still don't think that justifies the asking price. You are talking one of the most common guns out there..... If you waited a bit, you shouldn't have a problem picking one up cheaper than that.

Prices will come down, get your CPL now with a rented gun if you have to and get the gun when it's priced reasonably. i got a new G19 w/ 3 mags for $450.

I dunno. I think I'm still going to pick it up tommorow. True, the Glock 19 is only 500 at academy but I dunno - it's still 25 less and I'd rather establish some kind of history with this guy since he is a gunsmith and leatherworker. He does excellent work - I've already referred three or four people from work to him to fix heirloom shotguns and rifles they've had in a safe broken for years.
