My wife is looking to buy a used DSLR in the $300-600 range. What's the best bang for her buck. I guess she should be concerned with image quality and availability of accessories? I know nothing about DSLRs and she hasn't been into photography since college. So far I've run into a few Canons (350D, 10D, 20D, 30D) and some Olympus E-510s in that price range. Are these good for a beginner? She'll mostly be photographing people/models if that matters any.

I don't know the pricing of the canon models well, but you can get a used nikon D70s or d80 for around that price. I'd look for a D80 - hell you may be able to find a new D80 for $600 now that the D90 is out.

    20D - $325
    30D - $450
    40D - $650

    D80 - $540 (new at adorama)

im partial to canon because that's all i buy for point and shoots. all my friends use canon and say thats the safest route to go. my second choice would be a nikon, but i dont know why, lol. as far as lenses, can anyone suggest a lens or lenses to start off with?
