So I was in the gym doing back day and I started off w/ DL's as usual..

    did:

    135x10
    225x8
315x6 and my grip started to go on the 4th rep... usually I don't have a problem with 315.. so there was a powerlifter dude right behind the DL platform doing seated shoulder presses (260 lbs :eek3:) and he offered me some chalk.. I told him I'd never used it before but I went ahead and chalked up..

Loaded up 335 and pulled it for an easy 5.. grip was fuckin perfect..then I did 365x3 and grip was fine.. gonna start using chalk for 315+.. and I am going to video a 405 attempt on Saturday, so I'll post that up.

    Cliffs: chalk > *

P.S. I dont know the guy's name but he said he holds 4 world records and 7 american records.. his name is Ronnie.. benches 550, squats 800 and pulls 600.. :dunno:

Gear and arm length. Long arms are better for pulling, short arms are better for benching. He probably has short arms.

There is no special "weight-lifting" chalk right? Just the stuff kids would use except obviously ground down

the ones weightlifters is different. it's more powdery and lighter than regular chalk as regular chalk = calcium sulfite and weightlifter chalk = magnesium carbonate.

Some of us don't have that option. My gym doesn't allow the use of chalk. :ugh:
