my old boat : ) , the old sherminator , kind of makes me wish i had stuck around for a little while before running off to A-school . on our last JIATF patrol we brought home 6.8 tons if i remember correctly .

have you seen the pics of the proposed new ODU's?

The untucked ODU tops? Nope, but I've heard of them.

Did you see the new policy that just came for our ODU's? They are banning metal collar insignias effective 15JUL07. You must switch to the sewn on patches. I've never used the sewn on ones, since I liked the metal look, but this will make things even easier after washing them. No more lining up the chevrons lol.

the interpretation we have here at our unit is that metal collar devices will still be allowed after the 15th but they will be 'optional' kind of like how the sew on ones are now . personally ive read the ALCOAST numerous times and i dont see how people are pulling that out of it . i personally think the sew-ons look ridiculous . as an ET im not supposed to wear the metal ones anyhow , so i guess i should go ahead and buy the sew ons

if you look on MCPO of the CGs site theres a section modeling the new ODUs .right now they have a black embroidered cg emblem on the right front pocket , on each shirt cuff , and on each cargo pocket ... overkill in my opinion . theyre hard to see in the photos but they're there if you look closely enough . all of ou SWIII's have flat LCD monitors so i had to turn the screen a little to see them .

Yeah I'm not sure how they are reading it that way at my command. It doesn't change how things were before, from what I see in the message. The message is mostly full of old information just being reiterated.

Lol those embroideries look so stupid. I could put up with the one on the chest pocket, but not the sleeves. Not to mention CO's already have a shit ton of stuff to display around their pockets, the emblem is just more clutter. I thought they were going to add two more cargo pockets to the shirt. I really don't understand why we had our last set of uniforms for 20 years and no change, then we get ODU's for a couple years and already they want to add fluff.

we were tossing ideas around the other day here at work and i dont think it would look all too bad if they put the CG ensign on one shoulder and maybe a velcro square on the other so that when a nonrate finishes striking or graduates Aschool they could wear a rating patch on that shoulder , in black stitching kind of like what they have right now as if not to stand out too much and look stupid

Some drug lord is likely very unhappy with that chunk of his money missing now.
