Some more information would be helpful. Is the cable connected to anything? What is the application? What are you trying to do exactly?

Cable is connected to my windows XP. I hadnt yet connected it to my windows ME puter.

    Application:USB LinQ Cable File transfer

Trying to do: transfer files from Old computer to new computer. I looked at other alternatives, but this seemed to be the easiest.

Honestly, it would be easier just to take the HD out of the ME machine and put it as a slave in the XP machine to get the files off.

Yep, or network them and send files over Windows File Sharing.

But both of those would require me being computer savy enough to take the HD out.....and I think my old computer's ethernet card is fried (that is what the qwest tech lady thought..because I kept on getting DNS errors up the wazzu)

Well I just connected my old computer to the DSL gateway modem via USB (new computer is using ethernet), can I do a workaround with the two computers this way?

Only problem is..for some fucking reason..the mouse is NOT working..its plugged in and everything..the keyboard is working though fleh.

I have a feeling that the qwest tech person didnt know what they we're talking about
