I have a dell 600m laptop, whenever I hook a usb device up to it my computer runs horrible. Doesnt matter what the device is, mouse or removable storage, it always happens. The computer becomes slow and everything I type takes forever to appear...etc. When I unhook the device it doesnt immediately get better and sometimes requires a restart to get back to normal. Any Ideas I am dying over here...I have heard it could be a power issue or a heat issue? Confirmations? I hope its a software problem. By the way the comp has been formated multiple times and the problem is still there...Ideas?:hsd:

It does sound like a software problem. - Drivers in particular.
Try a windowsupdate and make sure you have all the latest drivers installed.

Chipset drivers from your motherboard manufacturer.
