So Im looking to buy a laptop, and find that most of them come without a floppy drive. Given my experience with desktops, I find that it's nice to always be able to fall back on booting from the floppy drive to solve problems and such. My question is, can you boot from a USB floppy drive, as that seems to be my only option? And for all you laptop people, do you have a floppy drive and is it useful? Thanks.

Booting from a USB floppy depends on the system BIOS. Also, some systems can boot from a USB flash memory drive.

Thanks for the info. Guess it's just hit or miss.
