I just did a reformat/reinstall of XP Pro on my HD. It is a legit copy of XP and has a downloaded SP2. I used MS Update for all of the downloads and installs.

Whenever I plug my iPod 30Gb Video or Sony Camera or Western Digital External HD some window pops up telling me that these items are designed for USB 2.0 and will run better if High speed USB is used and suggests a High-speed USB Controller.

My mobo is the ASUS P5GD2 Deluxe and has 8 High-speed USB. The Asus driver/bullshit disk has USB 2.0 Drivers but they are only for XP SP1 and the Asus Installer wont let me run it because my XP version is too high.

I thought sufficient drivers for USB 2.0 were in XP SP2...What gives!! :o

Also, this is my 3rd reformat in the last 18 months (I do it every 6 months) and Ive never had this problem before. Is my Mobo crapping out or is this Windows Update program shit?
