I am considering after high school going to the military for 4-6+ years. This is what I heard so far, I know some might not be true.

Army - For "stupid people" you don't need a GED, they just send you to war, pays worse then others, generally bad.

Marines - After 6 years a guy told me hes making 60 grand and benefits

Cost Guard - no chance of going to war like to iraq because your on the coast..

    Questions:

    1) Does the military pay fully for your college, or a percent. How does it work?
    2) Is there an option where you can be signed up not to leave the place your assiged (base or whatever it's called)

    I think that's about it.

    THANK YOU!

    Thanks.

Every single branch receives the same amount of pay, it depends entirely on your rank/paygrade. An E-3 in the army will make the exact same amount of money as an E-3 in the USMC, air force, etc.

None of the branches are for stupid people, every branch has a lot of highly technical MOS's which require a great deal of intelligence and they also have a lot of MOS's where intelligence isn't exactly a priority, like a cook or something.

If you sign up for 4 years of active duty, you receive the GI Bill which pretty much pays for almost all of your college when you get out depending on which college you go to. If you go to a big state school and decent tuition the GI Bill will most likely take care of the whole thing, but if you go somewhere like Harvard it won't even pay for half. You also get tuition assistance that you can use while on active duty, I think it's like $4,500 per month that you can put towards any college classes you may take, but don't quote me on yhe $4,500 number.

When you EAS (end of active service) after however long your contract was for, and not everyone gets an honorable discharge, if you fuck up somehow when you're in, you could end up with a general discharge or a dishonorable discharge.

Yes,...ahem...I would like to know why Ft. Jackson has been blocking this site and just now chooses to allow it. Thank you for your concern.

OT, Instructional formation, MARCH. The next posting which I will name, explain, have demonstrated and which YOU will conduct practical work on is posting in the form of a module out of extreme boredom.

Posting on OT is used to post random, sometimes useful but mostly senseless information on the internet.

READY, POST is a two part command. READY being the prepatory command and POST being the command of execution.
