nice. did you have to do any extra pp sharpening?

  4. I like the colors but it looks alittle dark to me. Just my opinion.

yeah, some are pretty dark, but the contrast and colors really brought these images to life.

For real there's some amazing abandoned places around Pittsburgh and tri-state area.
I did a big shoot at an abandoned Insane Asylum last summer.

I've posted these in OTAP before but this is a perfect thread for them

some Urban exploring shots. I love shooting run down things, makes for some great photo opportunities.

my roommates and i decided to go to the Paulinskill Viaduct today. Its an abandoned rail bridge in northwestern Jersey. It was Amazing to say the least. This bridge is massive.

No good vantage point for pictures from the outside because its surrounded by trees.

you have to climb a steep hill to get to the top side of it. as you can see you need to climb onto the arch to be able to walk through the bridge.

there are rungs in the cement to climb up the steeper areas and none when the arches flatten out.

side view out one of the arches
    [IMG]

this is the peak of one of the arches
    [IMG]

this type of grafitti was all over as you can tell from the other pictures as well
    [IMG]

    couple pics of them
    [IMG]

we left the interior and ventured to the top, another steep hill to climb. we got to the top and walked out to the middle. before this it was a clear day, then it just started snowing like a blizzard. when we got off the top it stopped, kinda wierd

these are all pics from the top of the bridge.

I'm right outside of Pitt like the original poster of this thread is (we graduated together)

They tore the damn place down to build a walmart. :o
Dixmont Insane Asylum, Look it up it's like 24 buildings on 406 acres or something close to that. a friend of mines sister was engaged to the owner (married now I would think) so we got permission and did a shoot all day and came back twice. I took a lighting rig and a generator up so we could shoot in the morgue ect (it's way downstairs in the one building and there's no electricity so...)

  17. that is too cool :bigthumb:

I need a site or knowledge of more places closer to or around Pitt itself.. I know there's a ton of places but nobody ever knows where they are they just talk of them...

Abandoned army bunkers, insane asylums... the only one of those I knew was Dixmont..and Livermore (where they filmed Night of The Living Dead) that's only like 15min away... and the Mall from Dawn of The Dead is the mall I usually shop at :eek4:

  22. :eek3:

I love that movie! Is it an abandoned mall near you? You usually shop there? :noes:

Sounds like time for a OT photo crew group meat! :h5:

No, it's the main mall out here it's been remodeled ect but still... http://www.monroevillemall.com

  24. :coold: So all the scenes and sets in the movie are really from that mall and places in your area or they're sets made in hollywood?

btw I hate mall websites especially that one :o

The original movie was filmed at our mall...same with the original night of the living deadbeing done at Livermore which is like 15 mins away as well.....and the second nigh tof the living dead was partially filmed in that mall too in the back halls ect...(which made it creddpy when I worked at Paific Sunwear back when they actually sold skate clothings and didn't look like a half wigger half Limited ripoff store)
