    and that was taken with a $100 P&S in the dark, so thats why its noisy and oof :squint:

    first thing first now, do a few tripod mounted test with the 70-200 with and without the 2x tele, to see if its worth it or not.

    can sell the 24-135 for $330 pretty easy.

    Just body it was like $1150, body and kit lens was $1280.

    so, i really get the 40d for ~$950

    also, coming from a XT to the 40d+grip.... this thing is fucking huge...and heavy.

    my arms are bitching after only ~hour of holding that and the 70-200 :rofl:

    want more reach, dont want to pay for the 100-400L

    and ive seen some VERY good pictures with the 2x and 70-200

    and ive also seen some horrible ones. So, ill find out for myself.

    I just did a few shots with both, comparing now.

    Hope you put it to good use.

    And hope you're not planning to put cheap non-coated tiffen UV filters in front of that $1600 piece of L-glass.

    f11 looks near identical on the 2x, both at ~140mm. 100 ISO

    im in optimal conditions though, plenty of light from 6 windows in a rather small room.

    will try compare so more later on.

    ill post some pics in a bit, still learning/playing with everything

    came to about $3900 i believe.

    sold rebel xt for 300, gonna sell 24-135 for at least that,

    so grand total of ~$3300.

    couple of things i learned right off the bat...

    i love IS... im hand holding 200mm shots at like 1/13 and they come out great

    the weight, although killing me right now, really makes you that much more steady.

    its near impossible to shot one picture when the camera is on H 6.5fps, and a shutter speed of 500 or faster.

    Luckily, my D300 was ordered w/ only 1 lens and the grip... my decision was easy. :big grin:

    o yeah, got a monopod too.

    Gonna DEFIANTLY take that with me tomorrow to the zoo. Ill never be able to hold that thing for 2+ hours :rofl:

    Will post good pictures tomorrow. Nothing good to shoot around here.
