You're just changing the rail so it stops at the front sight? That's how I did my SBR. Didn't like the look of it going past the sight

Keeps tension off the hammer spring. Well, if you make sure it's empty and dry-fire it first. I always check the chamber, pull the charging handle and BCG back just a little and let the hammer ride the end of the BCG. My gun sits for like 6 months and never gets shot, I basically take it out and check to make sure it has oil in it twice a year, ammo's too expensive to have any fun with it. :wtc:

Same deal with loaded mags. You're not going to wear out the hammer spring by leaving it compressed.

you DO know that even with the hammer "down" there is still tension on it, right? :hsugh: and keeping it cocked back won't wear down the spring, its the compression and release that wears springs down (just like in magazines).

edit: my nga keesh beat me. get on aim, faggot.

yea waiting on delta assembly and handguard cap.

got the cmmg .22lr kit today, me rikey.

  20. This is correct. Of course, there is no benefit to leaving the rifle with the hammer back either. Really, either way is fine.

  21. You can just dry-fire it. It's not going to hurt the gun.
